SpencerHall
A high-end consumer research and brand consultancy, Spencer Hall engaged me to create their first web site, with the proviso that the site live up to their beautifully designed and printed collateral. But I wanted to go farther, and do something no one else was doing (in 1998). I proposed a format that did not scroll vertically, and that displayed the logo and navigation at the bottom of each page, rather than doing the ubiquitous left navigation with the logo at the top.
I still have this site in my portfolio today because it was my first freelance job, because it was an unusual design for the time, and because it still typifies my style: clean design, bold color, and careful attention to type.
